Learn to Sew
I just don’t show you how to refashion clothes, I also teach you how to sew. Many projects cost less than $5.
Reduce & Reuse
Over the last few years, our family has gone through a transformation of using less. This means being conscious of what we buy – bringing our own reusable bags for groceries, purchasing a hybrid car, buying items that have no packaging. It also means being careful of what we throw out – recycling when we can, fixing items instead of buying new, and remaking things!
After one season, many people will just throw stuff out. Or donate it. I see tons and tons of old clothes – many with brand new price tags – at the Salvation Army. Because it’s not what Kylie Jenner or Kim Kardashian would wear this season.
I have a different mindset. I buy or remake clothes that are timeless – stuff I want to wear again and again. I don’t get caught up in the mindset of trendy.
